In our first WIM (UK) Newsletter for 2014 we recap on the media coverage we received for our latest report, Mining for Talent – 2014. We look at the recent news articles focusing on women in the work place and highlight our future events and key dates to look out for.

This month sees our annual education event take place which includes a panel session complete with keynote speakers from a range of mining career paths. We kicked off the fourth quarter of 2012 with a Bloomberg Industries event in partnership with the Association of Mining Analysts (AMA), addressing the financial challenges facing the mining industry. We enjoyed hearing from some of the industry’s most respected keynote speakers, including WIM (UK) board member Catherine Raw Director and portfolio manager at Blackrock. In this issue we update you on our membership survey and ask for your coments and questions prior to receiving the survey and we recap on our successful fundraising initiative for the Julian Baring Scholarship Fund.
