London – 11 November 2024:
Women in Mining UK (WIM UK) is pleased to announce an Industry Partnership with Imerys in the UK. This partnership highlights both organisations’ shared commitment to advancing gender diversity and fostering an inclusive culture in the mining industry.
The partnership will focus on a range of collaborative initiatives that promote equity, diversity, and inclusion, including educational events and site visits. One of the first events organised to kick off the partnership was a dedicated tour for WIM UK delegates of Imerys operations in Cornwall, which took place in October, and offered an inside look into Imerys’ extensive kaolin operations and its pilot-scale lithium carbonate production plant.
This collaboration between WIM UK and Imerys in the UK marks an exciting new chapter in the pursuit of an equitable and inclusive mining industry.
Stacy Hope, Managing Director of Women in Mining UK, commented: “We’re thrilled to welcome Imerys in the UK as an Industry Partner. With its extensive experience and strong commitment to sustainability and inclusion, Imerys brings a valuable perspective to our network. This partnership is a powerful step toward driving positive change and supporting women across all facets of the mining industry.”
Richard Townsend, UK HR Director for Imerys, said: “We’re delighted to announce our support of Women in Mining UK. Addressing the need for more female representation in this industry is at the forefront of our equity, diversity and inclusion strategy. We look forward to working on our shared goals.
“To mark the beginning of our partnership with WIM UK we hosted a tour in Cornwall, taking in both our extensive kaolin operations and our pilot-scale lithium carbonate production plant.”
