By 26/08/2022News

London – 26 August 2022: Women in Mining UK (WIM UK) is delighted to announce it received 915 nominations for 491 women in mining, representing a myriad of roles and levels of seniority, from 61 countries for the 2022 Edition of the “100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining” (WIM100), a biennial publication that celebrates the incredible diversity of talent in mining.

Dr. Stacy Hope, Managing Director of WIM UK, commented, “I would like to personally thank everyone who made a conscious effort to identify and nominate women whom they deemed to be inspirational for this year’s WIM100. I would also like to extend my thanks to our 2022 WIM100 sponsors, BMO Capital Markets, Heidrick & Struggles and BCG, for ensuring that the stories of these inspirational women are made visible across the mining sector.

“The 100 women featured were selected due to their inspiring contribution towards a stronger, safer and more sustainable mining industry. This includes making positive and impactful changes, advocacy and a desire to empower others, perseverance in the face of adversity, and an ability to find solutions to challenges. Above all, these women demonstrate the need for greater diversity, equity and inclusion in the industry.

The 2022 edition of WIM UK’s WIM100 will be published on Monday 21 November 2022 with an event on Friday 25 November 2022. Due to Covid-19, WIM UK was unable to host a celebration for the 2020 WIM100 cohort; therefore, this year’s event will include both 2020 and 2022 WIM100s.
