Women in Mining Board and Management Changes

London – 4 February 2019: Women in Mining (WIM) announces the resignation of Nichole McCulloch as Managing Director and Executive Director of the Board of WIM, following her decision not to seek reappointment at the end of her three-year term. Alex Buck, the current Head of Communications for WIM has been appointed Interim Managing Director whilst the Board undertakes a search for a permanent replacement over the next few months.

Carole Cable, Chairman of WIM said: “On behalf of the Board, I’d like to thank Nichole for stewarding WIM over the past three years as Managing Director and prior to that three years as Head of the International Committee.

Nichole has been a passionate advocate of gender diversity and inclusion and a great ambassador for WIM.”

Nichole McCulloch, outgoing Managing Director of WIM said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at WIM, working alongside fellow volunteers to raise the visibility of inspirational and talented women in the mining sector. Whilst I have seen good progress over the past few years, we must continue the call to action for women to be fully represented in all levels of management and across all professions to ensure the mining sector can attract and retain the best talent across generations.”

About Alexandra Buck

Alex has over fifteen years of investor relations, corporate communications and crisis management experience in the mining industry. Alex started her career at Brunswick before joining the investor relations department at the global gold miner AngloGold and then co-founding BuckBias, a specialist communications consultancy, whose clients included LionOre Mining, Aquarius Platinum and Mantra Resources. Currently Head of Communications at Asanko Gold, Alex is also a Trustee of the award-winning orchestra Arcangelo.
