Women in Mining Announces New Executive Appointments

London – 30 January 2020: Women in Mining UK (WIM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ariadna Peretz as Head of Communications and Elizabeth Johnson as Head of Events, following the resignation of Louise Mason-Rutherford.

“I am delighted to welcome Ariadna to the WIM Executive Committee. Her extensive communications experience, particularly in media relations and social media, will be invaluable as WIM continues to promote the benefits of gender diversity and inclusion within the mining industry through our various thought leadership initiatives, including the “100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining” publication, which will be published in November 2020,” said Alex Buck, WIM Managing Director.

“I am also pleased Elizabeth has agreed to become Head of Events after a year working as the Interim Head. During this time, Elizabeth and the Events committee have continued to deliver regular high-quality educational and networking events. On behalf of the Executive Committee, I would like to thank Louise for heading up the Events Committee for more than two years and generously donating her time and sharing her industry contacts to deliver engaging and well-attended events. We all wish her the best with her future endeavours.”

Biographies
Elizabeth Johnson has worked in the natural resources sector for over 15 years. Most recently, she launched Pimlico Advisory to provide bespoke corporate development and IR solutions to mining companies. Prior to this, Elizabeth was Director Sales at SP Angel, following six years as Director, Corporate Broking at FinnCap where she helped grow the mining franchise. Elizabeth sits on the Committee of the Association of Mining Analysts and holds a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Edinburgh.

Ariadna Peretz is a communications specialist with over 10 years of experience in investor relations, corporate communications and media relations. During her career, Ariadna has worked in Vancouver, Hong Kong and London, including eight years at NOVAGOLD, a NYSE-listed, Vancouver-based company developing a world-class gold project in Alaska with Barrick Gold, a writer for The Economist, and entrepreneur. Her broad and multicultural experience working across different sectors has given her the ability to create trusted relationships across continents.
