London – 1 February 2021: Women in Mining UK (WIM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Grace Howe as Head of Membership Development. She will take over from Lucy Crane, who will remain a volunteer on this committee.
Alex Buck, WIM Managing Director, said, “I am delighted to welcome Grace to the Executive Committee. She has been a dedicated volunteer since 2018 and has been instrumental in developing the WIM summer internship programme, which is one of our signature initiatives.
“On behalf of the Executive Committee and Board, I would like to thank Lucy for her leadership of the Membership Development Committee over the past five years, during which time she has overseen the launch of our internship programme as well as established the WIM scholarship with the Camborne School of Mines Trust and increased our reach with UK universities.”
Biography
Grace Howe is an Exploration Geologist at SRK Exploration Services, an exploration consultancy and geological field service provider, where she has worked on a variety of commodities and projects around the world. Previously, Grace worked at Old Mutual Global Investors where she advised the Gold and Silver Investment Desk on the value and fundamentals of its investments and projects, as well as Oxford-based Altus Strategies. Grace began her career working for Consolidated Nickel Mines on an exploration programme in Zambia. Grace has a Master’s in Geology from the University of Leicester.
