London – 1 September 2020: Women in Mining UK (WIM) announces today the appointment of Dr. Stacy Hope as Head of Global Outreach, following the decision by Melinda Moore to step back and pass the baton on, after serving for two and half years in the role.
Alex Buck, WIM Managing Director, said, “I am delighted to welcome Stacy to the WIM Executive Committee. She has been a volunteer at WIM since 2013, most recently as the Global Outreach Committee Lead for Latin America & the Caribbean, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
“On behalf of the Executive Committee and Board, I would like to thank Melinda for her dedication to WIM. She has been a passionate and energetic Head of the Global Outreach Committee. During her time, she has strengthened the committee as well as the cross-border links WIM has with other Women in Mining groups, corporates and associations around the world, as well as assisting with the creation of new WIM groups. Moreover, she has been instrumental in raising the profile of our “100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining” (WIM100) initiative and securing high-profile sponsors for the 2020 publication, such as IBM, BCG and Heidrick & Struggles. We wish her the very best and are delighted that she will stay close to WIM for many years to come.”
