WIM (UK) Dress for Success March 2013

By 15/05/2013March 9th, 2018News

Over 60 WIM(UK) members descended on HOBBS’ flagship store in Covent Garden for an evening of retail therapy and to support Dress 4 Success London – the charity that helps women on low incomes find employment.

It wasn’t long before mountainous bags of clothing donations began to build up. While our organisers pondered how large a lorry would be required to ship these offerings across town, it quickly became clear that in the hands of our hosts, we had little to be concerned about.

The well-heeled HOBBS team of fashion pros helped WIM(UK) members to peruse the rails over a glass of champagne, before attendees took to their seats to find gift bags waiting for them.

Everyone received a warm welcome from HOBBS Creative Director, Sally Verdon. Verdon’s career in fashion and textiles has taken her all over the world, and her address encapsulated the HOBBS brand’s heritage and vision.

HOBBS Personal Stylist, Sean Vincent Acris, took the floor with equal parts of fashion-forward flair and style. Stopping just short of modelling the garments himself, Acris talked and cat-walked us through the looks that will lead trends this summer and how to wear them.

Not content with turning our cloakroom tickets into a £200 HOBBS gift voucher raffle, Verdon, Acris and the rest of the HOBBS team were also on hand to chat with our members afterwards.

WIM(UK) thanks all attendees who donated clothing for Dress for Success London – and exercised their purchasing power in support of this highly worthwhile cause.
