Walking with Poldark

September 14, 2018 - September 16, 2018

This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the Cornish countryside and walk with Poldark, whilst raising funds for the Julian Baring Scholarship Fund (JBSF) which grants scholarships to deserving students wanting to study mining-related degrees in southern African universities.  Since its inception in 2000, the Scholarship has been granted to more than 50 individuals.

Friends and supporters of JBSF will start a 50 km walk over three days (14 – 16 September) from the famous South Crofty Tin mine in Cornwall following the old tram ways which pass the old mining district of Cornwall.

Our friends at Cornish Lithium and The Camborne School of Mines will be escorting us past many of the old mine workings across the county that also follow a number of the coastal walks made famous in the recent Poldark television series. The final day will cover much of The Penwith Heritage Coastal walk between St. Ives and Penzance.

If you would like to join in for some or all of the walk, please contact: julianbaringscholarshipfund@gmail.com for more details.

Or if you’d like to support this worthy cause and sponsor the walk, please do so by following this link.
