The World Gold Council, Its Responsible Mining Principles & The Impact On Mining Corporates & Investors
February 12 at 12:00 - 14:00
The World Gold Council (WGC) has produced a new ESG framework to ensure gold mining companies can provide confidence to investors, analysts, consumers, and other stakeholders that their gold has been responsibly sourced. It’s an incredibly ambitious endeavour that has the potential to change the gold industry for the better. But how are companies supposed to implement the guidelines to achieve the goals of protecting the industry’s reputation and meeting evolving stakeholder & shareholder expectations?
At this lunchtime talk, attendees will learn what impact the Principles will have on gold companies and what steps they must take to implement them as well as what are the ramifications if the Principles’ requirements are not met.
Our panellists will include:
Alex Buck, ESG and Corporate Communications at Endeavour Mining
Terry Heymann, Chief Financial Officer at World Gold Council
Bruce Jackson, Associate Director, Engagement Services at Sustainalytics
Gordon Wilson, Senior Manager (Sustainability Assurance) at PwC
Ariadna D. Peretz, Associate Director at Buchanan
Following the panel discussion, there will be a Q&A period followed by networking.
Lunch will be served at the event.
Please register soon as this event has limited capacity.
