Feeding the World – Why is the Fertilizer Industry so vital?

Women in Mining are delighted to host an evening with Argus Media, a leading energy and commodity price reporting agency and in partnership with Argus Media’s internal Women’s Initiative Network (WIN).
Fertilizer is a key ingredient in feeding a growing global population. Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium are the primary nutrients in commercial fertilizers. Excluding nitrogen, the majority come from concentrated supplies of naturally-occurring minerals that are mined or extracted.
With the global population set to reach an estimated 10 billion by 2050 join us as our panel discusses the growing agricultural and economic importance of the fertilizer industry, where supply comes from and the issues it faces.

Speakers:

Chair: Alice Charlton, Corporate Development Analyst, Sirius Minerals
Lauren Williamson- SVP Fertilizer, Argus
Hayden Locke- Executive Director and CEO, Emmerson
Antonella Harrison- Strategic Advisor/IFA Ambassador

Following the speaking session there will be an opportunity for Q&A with the panel followed by drinks.
