Women in Mining UK collaborates with leading mining companies to establish paid internships and employment pathways for the next generation of miners. Our esteemed partners for 2025 include; Britannia Refined Metals, Circulor, Copper Mark, Glencore, and International Tin Association.

Open to female BSc/Masters students in their second or final year, and recent graduates with less than three months of experience, these dynamic six to eight-week internships span roles from research to engineering. Join us for an extraordinary opportunity!

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

All internships guarantee at least the U.K. national living wage, with pay at the employer’s discretion.

The Copper Mark is an assurance framework to promote responsible practices in the minerals industry, showcasing its commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Through a rigorous site-level assessment, it independently verifies responsible production practices at copper, nickel, zinc, and/or molybdenum sites.

Glencore operates as a multinational commodity trading and mining company with a presence throughout the entire commodity supply chain. The company engages in the mining of metals and minerals and extends its activities to encompass marketing, recycling, and energy.

Britannia Refined Metals Limited, Northfleet, Kent, United Kingdom is the leading refiner of lead, lead alloys and silver in Europe. The company is embarking on an ambitious and challenging programme to update current processes and make them more energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

Location: St Albans (hybrid) or remote

The International Tin Association (ITA) represents the global tin industry, directly representing two thirds of tin metal production through its membership structure. With future supply insufficient to meet forecasted demand, we are placing focus on gathering intelligence on tin resources globally.
