By 08/04/2020News

London – 8 April 2020: Women in Mining UK (WIM) is delighted to have secured four global sponsors for the 2020 edition of the “100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining” (WIM100): BMO Capital Markets (BMO), Boston Consulting Group (BCG), IBM and Heidrick & Struggles. All are leaders in their respective fields and very much committed to advancing the diversity agenda both within and outside the mining sector.

The WIM100 highlights the incredible diversity of talent in mining as well as recognising and celebrating the contributions of inspirational women to the industry.

As ever, WIM is keen to see the full array of roles represented in the 2020 edition: from mine to office; geologists to capital raisers; explorers to C-Suite/NED; finance to compliance and ESG to government/non-government agencies; every level of seniority and across every corner of the globe.

Alex Buck, WIM Managing Director, said, “The “100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining” is the only global publication recognising and celebrating the efforts of the wonderful and talented women who are making extraordinary contributions to the industry, above and beyond their day jobs for the future benefit of the industry as a whole. It also demonstrates to those who are not in the mining industry that this is a sector where women flourish, are respected, recognised, and can make a difference. We urge everyone to nominate their inspiring women”

“To support these efforts, we are thrilled to have BMO onboard again for the third time running and welcome our new sponsors, Boston Consulting Group, IBM and Heidrick & Struggles. Their global links and corporate relationships, combined with their commitment to diversity and inclusion, will be invaluable in supporting the 2020 edition of the “100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining” and the women in our industry,” added Melinda Moore, WIM Head of Global Outreach and Finance Director.

The nomination form is available at www.womeninmining.org.uk/wim100 and nominations are open until 12:00 am GMT on Tuesday 30 June 2020. The successful nominees will be announced on Thursday 19 November 2020, with a celebratory event and symposium in London.
